Hi, everyone. Thanks for joining us. I'm Rachel Vindman. I'm Amanda Weinstein. And you're listening to

the suburban women problem. Last week was pretty stressful. The Trump administration is almost here,

and there were extreme weather events across the country from blizzards in the east to the terrible

wildfires in Los Angeles. We've been saying when they go low, we go local since the election.

So today, we'll get into some specific wins on the state and local level.

We'll be joined by Ashanti Golar, the president of Emerge America, an organization that supports Democrat women running for office.

But before we bring on Ashanti, let's talk about some news. Jasmine couldn't join us today because she's being sworn in right now. Speaking of Democratic women in office, yay. So Amanda,

what's been in our group chat? Oh, so much. I'll say I've had a lot of women tell me,

they're like, I can't read the news right now I

just can't read it it's all terrible it's not good for my mental health I don't know what

to do should I feel bad about not reading the news because I also feel bad when reading the

news I have kind of checked out of a lot of political news and and also, I wouldn't say I have alternative news sources because

like sounds like I'm crazy. But, you know, even like sub-stacks I read and things like that.

Go straight to the experts. One of the things I'm struggling with, and I think I mentioned this last

week, is just you can't be mad about all the things all the time.

There's a lot of craziness.
