Today we're discussing the horrifying trend of hundreds of college age men who have been

found dead in bodies of water after going missing, days, weeks, and sometimes even months after

disappearing in the middle of the night. The mysterious phenomena began in the late 90s in

major urban areas primarily in the Midwest and the Northeast.

And it seems to have had a resurgence in 2023.

While the FBI has long denied that there is any evidence substantiating the theory that these deaths are the work of a serial killer or killers,

the families of the victims and researchers and former law enforcement officials disagree.

There are similarities in the deaths that are chilling and inexplicable and have given rise to what is called the Smiley Face Killer Theory.

What's worse is that in 2023, the phenomena seems to have returned in cities like Austin and Chicago.

Today's guest, William Ramsey, is an expert on the subject and author of a new book,

The Smiley Face Killers investigating suspicious water deaths of college-age men in the U.S. and the world.

William is also an attorney and host of the popular podcast, William Ramsey Investigates.

We begin by talking about the data on hundreds of cases he researched and compiled for the book and the significance of the smiley face symbol.

William, welcome to the show, and let's cut straight to the chase and start talking about this new

book of yours. Thanks. Yeah, thanks for having me, Mike. And it's great to be with you. And thanks for

the invite. And I've just published it September 5th. so today is what the 28th, so fairly recently.

And it's really just a compilation of all my research into this phenomenon, what's called publicly

or known to people as the Smileyface Killers, this phenomenon of young men disappearing

late at night, only to be found later in water, sometimes much longer than they

should have been missing 30 or 40 days like that. So I kind of got into it in a different route,

maybe than some of these other people's. I was following. I was researching book, Children of the
