0:35.8	Director Brian McCormick. Y'all stay right back up. I'm sorry. This is how we read scripture.
0:43.9	I was like, do I let him sit? Like, no, we're doing this thing. We're doing this thing. If it's your
0:48.5	first week, if it's your first week, this is how we're going to be reading scripture this semester.
0:53.8	We're going to stand and continue to communicate. That is for three reasons. One, it's just
0:58.8	reverence. Y'all, these are not just words on a page at this Bible study. We believe any one of
1:04.1	these words can leap off the page and change a human heart. Amen? All right. So we stand for that
1:09.9	reverence and that expectation. Number two, it's just an eagerness to receive. Here we are
1:14.3	standing, posturing ourselves ready to receive from you. And then thirdly, it just implies
1:20.4	a readiness to carry whatever he brings us out of this place into our life. And so that is why
1:27.2	we stand for scripture. My friends, this is the word that God has for us. We're going to be in
1:31.2	Luke chapter three. If you're reading along, if you don't have a Bible, don't even sweat it. We'll
1:36.2	have the verses right here on the screens for you. But this is what we got. Luke chapter three.
1:41.5	Starting in verse 21, just two verses and they are all we need. Here we go.
1:45.8	When all the people were baptized, Jesus also was baptized. As he was praying, heaven opened
1:57.0	and the Holy Spirit descended on him in a physical appearance like a dove. And a voice came from
2:06.7	heaven. A voice came from heaven. You are my beloved son. With you, I am well pleased.
