Today's micro show is my attempt to tackling a topic that's been the subject of a lot of debate in creative circles.

And not just this week or this month for the last 100 years.

And that is the myth of the lone genius you know that age old belief that the

greatest creative works are the brain children of solo incredibly exceptionally talented individuals

it's this romantic notion that we you know go into the woods and come out with creative genius

frankly that whole myth is just that we, you know, go into the woods and come out with creative genius.

Frankly, that whole myth is just that.

It's a myth.

It's way overrated.

And I would argue that it's actually very misleading, even harmful.

So let's understand a little bit then.

Why is this overrated?

Why is it toxic? It's toxic because it's not how

it happens. It's not to say it's never happened, but if you look at repeated, demonstrably

successful creative processes, it's not a person, you know, under a set of stairs somewhere doing the best work of their lives.

In fact, I've come up with five, count them one, two, three, four, five ways that you should think about it differently than that lone genius myth.

The first one is obvious.
