On June 20, 2006, a 21-year-old nursing student from Germany, Fraukey Lebes, met up with her mother and flatmate at a nearby restaurant for the afternoon.

At some point, she got a text message from a friend who wanted to meet up and arranged to meet her and some other people at an Irish pub in downtown Paderborn so they could watch some of the 2006 FIFA World Cup.

Her mother dropped her off at around 9 p.m.

And throughout the Sweden-England match, she texted with an acquaintance

until the battery on her cell phone ran out. She then borrowed one from a friend, returned it later,

and at about 11 p.m., began saying her goodbyes and made her way back home. With not a lot of

money on her, Frouquet began the roughly one mile walk back to her apartment.
