Thank you. What's up, guys? Welcome back to another episode of the True Crime Society podcast with Stephanie and Olivia. It is May 17th, 2026. We are back recording after having a long time off. Olivia is back from her trip. So we're getting back into it. And just to preface, I am talking a little bit quieter because we're recording after Baby Jack has gone to sleep. So I'm a little scared to talk too loud yet. I'll adjust. I'm still, we've just come off a couple rough nights

1:04.3

of him not sleeping. So I'm living in fear. I'm living in silence in my own house. I have to act

1:08.8

like I don't exist in my own house basically because I'm just afraid. But we're also not sure if I broke my microphone. So if it

1:16.2

sounds a little off, there could be two reasons why. But once I edit this, I'll be able to figure it out. So

1:21.4

just bear with over that. But yeah, so we're back. I guess do you want to talk about your trip quickly first?

1:30.9

I feel like maybe it's interesting too because our last episode that came out was about

1:34.2

Katie Ferguson being missing. And when I was reading the Spotify comments, I'm like, gosh,

1:37.3

it feels like so long ago that we recorded that.

1:39.3

We recorded that one a while ago.

1:40.8

Yeah, we did a whole lot of pre-recording. So maybe some people maybe some people won't realize as much that we haven't been recording live, essentially, for a month now. We're back in kind of a real-time schedule. But, yeah, so I was away for five weeks. It's now Monday morning here. I got back on Friday from the UK. So the jet lag is a bit of a mission, but we had a great trip. We went to the U.S. for two weeks. My daughter danced at Disneyland, which was great. Then we went to France, Italy, and then back to Switzerland and then London. So we got back. It was a massive trip, mammoth effort. Everything went well, though. We were so lucky, no delays. I just had one funny story that I wanted to pick out. So specifically i think i mentioned i don't know if it was here on patreon but i mentioned before we left that i had bought a kindle because i thought i can't like books around i've got limited space bought a kindle and then on the flight to from sydney to l a which is 13 hours i unpacked all my stuff in the seat pocket put my kindle and didn't use it and because these the kindle i don't know The kindle I have is so small. It unpacked all my stuff in the seat pocket, put my Kindle in, didn't use it.

2:34.4

And because the Kindle, I don't know, the Kindle I have is so small. It's like the size of a very small, the like actual size of a very small paperback book, but very, very thin. Like, I didn't even know what, like, it's tiny. So I just obviously didn't realize. And when we got to the first place in LA, it was kind of, it was nice whether I thought I'm going to go

2:51.5

and sit by the pool. I'm going to read my new Kindle for a minute. Looked everywhere. I'm like, I've left just obviously didn't realize. And when we got to the first place in LA, it was kind of, it was nice whether I thought,

2:51.2

I'm going to go and sit by the pool.

2:52.2

I'm going to read my new Kindle for a minute.

2:53.8

I looked everywhere.

2:54.5

I'm like, I've left it on the plane. So I contacted the airline. They had a lost and found. I'm like, there's no chance. There's no way I'm going to get it back. and they're like they wrote back within a day and they're like hey yep we've got it I'm like

3:06.5

wow and they're like we can ship it, we've got it. I'm like, wow. And they're like, we can ship it to you for 350 US dollars. I'm like, what? That is double the cost, probably triple the cost of the Kindle when I convert it to Australian dollars. Then I wrote back and I said, oh, look, I'm going to actually be back at Lax to go to New York on this date, is it right if I come and pick it up? They're like,

3:24.3

yeah, sure. I was like, this is unbelievable. And like, nothing like this I fear ever happens.
