Hello everyone, Kirk here with an episode that I originally ran just about a year ago,

but that I'm bumping up for an obvious reason with just a couple of weeks until the release

of the Legend of Zelda, Tears of the Kingdom, the world has caught Zelda fever, and I'm

pretty sure that the only cure for Zelda fever is listening to podcast episodes about

the Legend of Zelda.

Just a couple of months ago I recorded a guest spot on another podcast talking about Zelda

music.

I think that episode isn't out yet, but you'll probably see it when it does come out

and it should be really cool.

In the process of researching for that guest spot, I went back and re-listen to this episode

that you're about to hear, which contains analysis of a whole bunch of Koji Kondo's

Zelda music from his original 1986 theme to the ways that original theme turns up in 2017's

Breath of the Wild and a whole bunch of stuff in between.

There is so much music in this episode.

I was struck all over again by how dense it is listening back to it, there's definitely

some stuff that I'd kind of forgotten that I talked about, and then I was glad to listen

to myself talk about it kind of an uncanny experience, but also a lot of fun.

So even if you've heard this episode, or you've listened to it when it first came out,

I hope that you'll take the time to listen again, because it really is a pretty dense

one even by strong song standards, and there's a lot of music in here to unpack and appreciate.

I am so excited for Tears of the Kingdom.

I don't think I'll do another full episode of the show about the music from that game,
