Hello everyone, it's July 2022 and I've got a blast from the past for all of you.

An episode of musical analysis that I did two years ago in 2020 that, wow, pretty much

being an episode of Strong Songs was never actually released in the Strong Songs feed.

So as many of you probably know, I also have a video game podcast called Triple Click that

I make with my co-hosts Maddie Myers and Jason Shryer, and most of the time that show

is just us talking about what we think about video games and the video game industry and

all kinds of things like that.

But as an experiment in 2020, I did a one-off episode for what could have become a recurring

segment called Hey Listen, which is a cheeky Zelda reference that all of you true nerds

will get.

Just kidding, it's a really basic reference that everybody knows, but it was called Hey Listen

and the idea was that I would do a Strong Songs style analysis of a video game soundtrack

or the music from a video game series.

And that's what you're about to listen to, the inaugural and as it turns out only episode

of Hey Listen, which was focused on the music of Final Fantasy VII and in 2020 Final

Fantasy VII remake, which was new at the time and repurposed a lot of the music from

the original game in a lot of really cool ways.

So as it turns out, making an episode of Strong Songs or an episode of Hey Listen, it's

a lot of work.

I didn't really have time to go back to do more episodes of Hey Listen, it just didn't

quite feel like something I actually had the bandwidth for.
