Hello and welcome to this bonus episode of the UK True Crime podcast. I'm Adam.

Today, at the old Bailey, serial killer Steve Wright has been

sentenced for the murder of Victoria Hall in Felixstow in September 1999. You will recall

that Wright was sentenced to life in prison for the shocking murders of Gemma Adams,

Tanya Nicol, Aneli Alderton, Paula Cl Clennel and Annette Nichols, before dumping their

bodies on the outskirts of Ipswich in 2006.

Let's look at just what happened to Victoria, or Vicky, as she was known, the investigation

around her murder, and the events led us to where we are today at the old Bailey, including

all the reaction to the sentencing today.

Our story today starts in Felixstow, a coastal town of around 25,000 people on the east

of Suffolk, about 15 miles southeast of Ipswich, and 95 miles northeast of London.

I've started here a few times, it's got a decent beach and promenade, and it was in fact a fashionable

seaside resort until the 30s. But nowadays, rather than being the sort of place you may choose

to go on holiday, Felixstery is perhaps better known as the largest container port in the UK.

When we pick up the story in September 1999, Vicky lived in Trimley, St Mary, a couple of miles outside Felixstowe,

with her mum, Larinda, her dad Graham, and her brother Stephen. Having lived in their home for 12 years,

Fickey went to school at Felixstow at Orwell High School

and enjoyed her time there. She was a popular pupil.

Her plan was to study sociology at Roehampton University

once she had finished her A-Levels.
