Natalee Holloway had the world had her feet when she went on a graduation trip to Aruba in 2005. She was enjoying spending time with her friends in a beautiful destination.

One night, towards the end of her vacation, Natalee went to a nightclub on the island where she would run into Joran van der Sloot. This encounter would change the lives of the Holloway family forever.

Natalee was not seen alive again after this night. As of November 2023, her remains have still not been found.

Over the years, Joran van der Sloot has confessed to his involvement in Natalee’s disappearance and death many times. He has also taken back his confessions and changed his stories frequently.

In 2010, five years to the day that Natalee vanished, Joran met Stephany Flores in a casino in Peru. They went back to his hotel room where he brutally murdered her with a tennis racquet. Joran was eventually sentenced to 28 years in prison for this murder.

In October 2023, Joran gave another confession and gave details as to how he brutally killed Natalee on an Aruban beach in 2005. Natalee’s mother Beth believes his story. “It’s over. Joran van der Sloot is no longer the suspect in my daughter’s murder. He is the killer,” Beth said.

In this episode of the True Crime Society Podcast, we tell Natalee Holloway’s story.

What's up guys? Welcome back to another episode of the True Crime Society podcast with Stephanie and Olivia.

It is October 26th right now, Thursday here. And I know people don't always love hearing us talk

0:46.7

about the weather, but it is hot here in New York. It is 79 degrees today. It's going to be like

0:54.0

80 again over the weekend. It is almost November. This is global warming for sure.

1:00.6

Yeah, I remember like so many years growing up, a Halloween, it was freezing. I would have been

1:07.2

so happy in my earlier 20s wearing skimpy outfits for it to have been this warm for Halloween.

1:15.4

I feel like here it's always getting warm so we're coming out of the cold and I'm like,

1:18.5

you've got to think about it because it might be cool now, but when we actually get to Halloween,

1:21.8

it's usually pretty hot. Yeah, I wonder.

1:25.0

Yeah, actual Halloween. I think it still says the high here is going to be 49 and rainy,

1:29.8

so pretty crappy. So everyone should celebrate this weekend instead.

1:35.3

So today we'll just get into it because this one will probably be kind of long. I feel like we

1:41.5

say that a lot, but this one is Natalie Holloway. So there's a lot going on. I'm sure most people

1:47.7

have heard of the story before, but what we were saying is like an older case now where

1:55.0

many people who are a little bit younger or have only gotten into true crime recently might not

2:00.1

know as much about it. And even if you did follow it back then, like Olivia and I were saying,

2:05.2

we've heard of it, we followed it, but it's been so many years now that you forget so much of the

2:09.4

story. So there's been recent developments that put it back in the news and there has been
