A Northeastern University professor claims that violent crimes increase by as much as 50% on Halloween, which is two times the daily average.

In this episode of the True Crime Society Podcast, we discuss three cases that happened on Halloween.
  • In 2014 in Michigan, Chelsea Bruck dressed up as Poison Ivy and attended a large Halloween party. Her friends offered her a ride home after the party ended and she declined. She was never seen alive again. Chelsea’s battered body was found dumped in the woods months later. A man named Daniel Clay has been charged with her murder, and he was sentenced to life in prison.
  • Cindy Song dressed up as a bunny for Halloween in 2001. She waved goodbye to her friends at the end of the night. She went into her apartment and took off her false eyelashes. For some reason, at around 4am, Cindy left her apartment for the final time. She has never been seen again.
  • Devon Griffin arrived back to his mother’s home in Martin, Ohio on October 31, 2010. His parents were divorced and he had been spending time at his father’s house. When he went inside, he found what he thought was a Halloween prank. His bemusement turned to horror when he found his mother Susan Liske, brother Derek and step-father Bill Liske all dead in their bedrooms. Devon’s step-brother BJ Liske would be charged with the murders of his family – he blamed mental illness and Satan for his actions.
