On May 11, 2022, 25-year-old professional cyclist Mariah Wilson was found shot to death inside a friend's apartment in Austin, Texas.

She had been dropped off less than an hour earlier after spending the evening with someone she knew.

There were no signs of forced entry and nothing had been taken.

But from the beginning, investigators believed Mariah was targeted.

I am doing well. We are recording this on April 1st and I am just over here hoping that you don't

have anything to prank me with today. Okay, well, I should have thought about that. I don't,

but I've already been gotten by a couple articles, a couple things, something about

married at first sight, somebody getting killed, but a bunch of things where every time I've

had to say, oh, yeah, it's April 1st. And then I don't look into it any further. There's no need.

I'll find out tomorrow if it's true. I'm extremely gullible. It took me a few different things.

I saw online to really let it sink in that today was April 1st and that that was what was going on because I've seen several things that I've been like, what is happening in the world right now. But like I said, I'm very gullible. So one of the ones that cracks me up that I actually fell for it and didn't immediately say like like, this can't be real, is one of the athletic wear companies that I follow posted, like, as if they were launching a new

line of, like, leggings and stuff. And the picture, and of course, everything looks very professional

about it, right? And so, but the picture was like, it was like it looked like

these leggings had a pair of like underwear over the top of them. Like they were two tall color,

but it was like purposely meant to look like you're wearing underwear over your leggings. And so

anyway, I was like, this cannot be real. I was like, no, no, like we're not doing this. And then it took me going to the comments to see what other people were saying before. I was like, no, no, like, we're not doing this. And then it took me going to the

that's not real. You never know, honestly, and styles change and everything and things will come

out that you're like, what, what are we doing? So I wouldn't have even thought twice about that.

I would have just been like, okay, not for me.
