Now, today's story. Born on April 2nd, 1939, in Washington, D.C., Marvin Pence, Gay Jr. was the son of a preacher

and a domestic worker, and gay at this time was spelled G-A-Y.

We'll talk about why he changed that in a little bit.

His father, the Reverend Marvin Gaye Sr., was a minister at the local evangelical church

and gave his son the responsibility of singing with the choir.
