The murder of Jane Bashara is a much requested case,

and to be honest, it's one that I've avoided until now.

We're going to talk about murder, which is always distressing,

but the case also delves into sexual dysfunction, infidelity, abuse,

and explores the BDSM community.

If you aren't familiar with the term, BDSM refers to sexual practices

involving bondage, discipline, sadism, and masochism.

As I compiled the episode, my intent was to be respectful

of the BDSM community.

The story takes place in the upscale Detroit suburb of Gross Point Park,

but to understand how we ended up where we did,

with a woman beaten to death, her body stashed inside of her Mercedes
