Summary

The murder of Gannon Stauch was a case that bought the True Crime Society community together. We know many of you found us through this case originally. The trial in this case has just started and we wanted to run through Gannon’s story again, while we wait for justice.

Gannon was 11 in January 2020 when he went missing from Colorado Springs, Colorado. His step-mother Letecia Stauch originally said that Gannon had gone to a friend’s home. But she couldn’t name the friend, or in fact, any of Gannon’s friends.

What actually happened to Gannon is horrendous. We know now that Letecia likely shot Gannon while he was in his bed. She wrapped his body in his bed sheets and stuffed his small body in a suitcase. She lied to everyone – her husband, friends, police and the media – before fleeing Colorado with her daughter Harley. It is believed she threw Gannon’s remains from a bridge in Florida and his body was found in March 2020.

Letecia has been in prison since 2020 and her trial is finally underway. In this episode of the True Crime Society Podcast, we tell Gannon’s story and run through Letecia’s antics leading up to the trial.

It is April 6th right now, someone actually messaged us and told us that they didn't think we

0:37.8

chatted in the last episode so we said that we would be sure to do lots of chatting in this episode.

0:45.1

But just as a friendly reminder to the people who are either new here and don't really know us,

0:49.5

so you don't really care or who you just think we're annoying, there's always a little time stamp

0:53.3

in the episode notes that you can just click and it'll bring you right to the start of the story

0:58.1

or depending what app you're on, you could just fast forward to that point. But it's pretty much

1:02.4

usually around eight to nine minutes on average. So when new people message just be like you talk

1:08.2

for 20 minutes about yourself, no we don't. I don't think we've ever spoken for 20 minutes.

1:12.7

No! About non-topic items. The longest where I felt like almost guilty was like 12 minutes.

1:21.3

That's nice because a lot of people say you know it's just like chatting, there's a meme that I was

1:25.5

saying where it's like when you feel like you podcast to friends are you best friends and it's

1:29.6

this person sitting next to these a poster of two girls talking and just laughing like it just

1:38.8

have a bit of a chat you know I know it's not for everyone but we give you all the tools if you

1:42.4

want to skip forward. So yeah like I have podcasts where I like love listening about their lives

1:47.9

and all that because I feel like like I know what's going on so I want to do it. And I feel like

1:53.2

I always have to harp on this and like people are probably like we get it but it's annoying

1:57.2

because we do always talk about it and then we still get like a review that's like they only care

2:02.2

about themselves. Like it's an hour in 20 minute episode an hour episode we talk about ourselves
