Summary

Elizabeth Smart was 14 years old in June 2002. She was asleep in a bedroom with her younger sister when her life would change forever.

Brian David Mitchell broke into the Smart home and abducted Elizabeth. She was held captive and subjected to rape and abuse. Brian’s wife Wanda Barzee was part of the plan. The couple even took Elizabeth out in public - she was photographed at a party months after she was abducted.

Thankfully in March 2003, an astute member of the public recognized Elizabeth in Sandy, Utah - even though she was wearing a grey wig and a veil. Police were called and astoundingly, Elizabeth was reunited with her family.

0:43.1	massive day of travel. Like the flight's only 10 hours, but because we got to get the bullet train
0:47.1	from Osaka to Tokyo, they're waiting around the airport. Like it was just by the time we walked
0:51.2	in the door at my house. I think it was like 24 hours of travel. So it was a big, big, big day.

1:00.1	that much, but the first- Some people care. And I had so many messages from people because I posted

1:45.4	will keep you posted. But when I actually logged on and looked at my flight, they had found us
1:49.2	another flight. So it was such an unnecessary panic really in the end. And we ended up going
