| 0:00.0 | Hey guys, and welcome to the Moms and Mysteries podcast, a true crime podcast featuring myself, Mandy, and my dear friend Melissa. |
| 0:31.3 | Hi, Melissa. |
| 0:32.3 | Hi, Mandy. How are you? |
| 0:33.4 | I am feeling good. We've turned over a new leaf. We are in November. |
| 0:37.4 | November. I like November, Mostly because I like food. And I feel that November comes with a lot of opportunities to eat. |
| 0:45.2 | It really does. But Mandy, more importantly, you have something very exciting going on this weekend that I feel like we've talked about on Patreon some. But you may have mentioned it on here. but it's not, I don't care. Mention it. Mention it. This weekend, actually tomorrow, we're recording on a Friday, very early in the morning, by the way, unusual for us. But I will be competing in a bodybuilding competition. Again, if you've listened to the show for a while, you might be like, didn't you do that before? And yes, I did. It's been over two years, though. And so, yeah, so we've been, when I say we, I mean me and my coach, who I absolutely would not be able to do anything without. I literally, I was telling you this morning, I was waiting for him to tell me what to eat today before I could get down and record. Like at this point, I'm just relying on him to be your brain. To be my brain and get me through this competition. But we've been working really hard, like, for the last two years. And this is the first time I will be doing a competition with him as my coach. So both of us are really excited to kind of see how it goes. Yeah, I've been working really hard. As you know, I mean, not to like toot my own horn or pat my own back, but it's hard. If I had to do like two days of what you're doing, you would not hear the end of it. I would, I would literally get a billboard and be like, feel bad for me. Listen to what I ate today. Yeah, I mean, obviously I chose it. I feel like if anyone's listening and has known someone who has ever done, you know, a competition like that or if you do things like that yourself, then, you know, you know, there's a lot to it. It's kind of a hobby for me, but it's also just kind of a passion at this point. I feel like |
| 2:18.5 | it kind of has to be. So yeah, I am very excited. I've been working on, I've been technically on |
| 2:24.4 | contest prep where we started getting ready for this since May. And I was supposed to compete two |
| 2:31.4 | weeks ago, but the hurricane came through and devastated the very area that I was |
| 2:38.4 | supposed to compete in, St. Pete. And so I had to, at the last minute, decide to continue my |
| 2:44.7 | dieting and contest prepping for another two weeks. But now it's finally here. I'm finally doing it. |
| 2:49.0 | And I know everybody in my life is probably |
| 2:51.2 | very excited that I'm doing it and that we can all move on and enjoy the holidays without me |
| 2:56.3 | talking about the gym and my food and all that stuff. So yeah, I'm excited. And I think probably |
| 3:03.5 | everybody who knows me is equally excited. I'll be excited to know that you'll see my text and probably be able to respond in a reasonable amount of time. I'll get like likes like eight hours later. I'm like, what are you doing? I know. I'm like, I already moved on. I already answered that myself. Right. Well, I would love when you would send me questions and then I would see like 15 minutes later, you'll be like, never mind, I just decided to do X-R-D. Yeah, I realize what's going. |
| 3:27.7 | I'm just decided to do. |
| 3:26.0 | Yeah, I realize what's going. I'm like, so proud of you for doing it without me. |
| 3:30.1 | Like, I'm just taking this on my own. Tell me if this is a problem, you know, whenever. Mandy, I have one exciting thing, and again, it's not me, but I'm so excited for you, obviously, |
| 3:40.6 | and I need your husband to tell me how it goes tomorrow when he finds out, because I'm sure you'll be in like getting your gold. |
| 3:49.2 | Yeah. |
| 3:49.5 | So, because the way the bodybuilding shows are set up is that you go on in the morning for what they call pre-judging. |
| 3:55.9 | But that's when the judges basically decide who's going to be the winners, but they don't tell you until later in the nighttime. So you go back, you have a break for like several hours in the afternoon where you're just supposed to rest and eat, I guess, or do whatever your coach tells you to do. And then you go back for finals in the evening, which is when a lot of spectators come, people's families come and sit in the audience. |
