Before we dig into this week's episode, I have some housekeeping. Last week, I was in Cincinnati

for the History Dweeb's podcast's 10th anniversary party, where we recorded a live episode.

Then, when driving back from Cincinnati, the Ways app

directed me through Ipsilante, down Michigan Avenue, right past the Denton Cemetery,

where Jane Mixer's body was discovered back in 1969. We covered Jane's story on the podcast back in January of 2023, if you'd like to revisit

her case. This was the first time I got a good look at the area, and I was shocked to see how

close the cemetery is to Michigan Avenue. But I suspect that Michigan Avenue was not a divided highway back then.

Today's episode is out of Traverse City. I will be in Traverse City advocating for the Kelly

Hurlbert case from 2013 on the weekend of October 17, 2025.
