When Jane Liebrick sat next to a charming, successful man on her flight from Orlando to Los Angeles,

she thought it was a fairy tale.

This man was charming, interested, and surprisingly single.

go on to destroy her life. This is Monsters. David Russell Miller was born on August 20th, 1950 in Sardos, Ohio to Russell and Maxine Miller. Despite not outright lying as a young

child and not having done anything he wasn't supposed to, his sister said he would still withhold

information quite often. When his father would ask him where he had been, he would give short, vague

answers. Some say he was just too busy busy as he was involved in far more social groups than most

other kids his age. He was in the local boys club, was the scorekeeper of multiple sports

teams, and he still got good grades on top of it all. David liked to keep himself busy to stave off boredom in the tiny town.

He considered Sardis a prison and was eager to escape. So as soon as he graduated from high school

in 1968, he enrolled at Ohio University and moved 60 miles or 96 kilometers away to

Athens, Ohio.

It was there in the freedom of living on his own in the dorms that David began outright lying to everyone around him.

It was the freedom to be whoever he wanted and answer questions however he wanted that

drew him into compulsively lying.

He could hide the fact that he was from a small
