DEEP DIVE - On this episode we go hunting for the winged menace andsupernatural oddity that terrorized a small West Virginian town in1966-67. Locals told terrifying tales of being chased by theairborne monster and it's glowing red eyes. Witnesses giving eerilysimilar descriptions of the 7 foot humanoid torso, 14 foot wingspanand demonic presence. Other stories tell of UFO encounters, visitations fromunsettling Men In Black, strange phone calls, unexplainedillnesses, mutagenic toxic waste and other paranormalphenomena. The fevered accumulation of troubling accounts culminating in adisaster that would cement the lore of the Mothman in the canon ofmodern urban legend. 0:17.9	The seven-foot tall tales of townsfolk who witness this bat-like bird man tell of glowing

0:49.6	Starting in 1966, there have been over 100 sightings in the small West Virginia town,
0:54.2	with locals reporting strange sicknesses, swellings, burns and blindness that accompanied
0:58.9	encounters with the newly named Moth Man.
1:01.6	Many accounts told the creature chasing cars and appearing in trees and outside homes,
1:05.8	flying an incredible speed and seeming to vanish in a moment.
1:10.3	As the sightings of the Moth Man began to accumulate, new phenomena gripped the terrified townspeople.
1:17.5	Uncalls of unnoticed screeching voices, reports of UFOs and unexplained lights in the sky,
1:23.6	strange visitors to vocal eyewitnesses.
1:28.5	Visitors who seemed alarmingly odd, men dressed all in black, who sought to sniff out

1:42.8	All of this culminated in an event so shocking, it cemented the story of the Moth Man into

1:49.6	On December 15, 1967, the local silver bridge collapsed into the Ohio River, killing 46
