| 0:00.0 | So the most insane thing I've ever personally see at a wrestling show is probably |
| 0:04.4 | WrestleMania 38 when Austin came back. For two reasons. First of all, these days when I |
| 0:09.0 | watch wrestling shows, I'm a bit of a loser because I get to do the ups and downs. I kind of |
| 0:12.8 | like just to watch, I don't really engage too much with my vocal chords, especially because |
| 0:16.8 | those WrestleMania trips, I'm always close to losing my voice. But I also enjoy sort of |
| 0:20.4 | looking at other people's reactions like when when Roman Reins won at 39, my favorite thing was turning around and I saw someone with a burger or something he'd thrown on the floor. He was so mad. Those burgers were like 30 bucks. When Austin came out for that Kevin Owens, whatever it was going to be, Schmoz match, fight, I was eight years old again. I went totally crazy. I couldn't't even control it and when he came out on night two for the surprise pop which i think deep down on time times we knew what was what was coming it just made me feel great and it reminded me why i love wrestling and i've never been in a venue for a proper steve austin pop i used to come over here for the uk shows but they were so like glorified, it never felt like a proper event. So to get it at WrestleMania 38 in his home state, I mean, it was just, it's one of the best things I've ever seen. And I was also the same weekend that Cody Rhodes came back that gave me a similar feeling. But it really felt like, okay, if I have a bucket list of things I want to do in live professional wrestling, we've ticked that off. And I have seen some cool ones. I saw Rick Flair fake retire at WrestleMania 24. There was some other one I was going to talk about as well that I've now totally forgotten about. But I guess the first ever all in was incredible too. And there was a moment there as well when the fans were so loud. I'd never been a part of an audience that was that electric to use wrestling terms. And it got me all emotional because I think my fight or flight system kicked in or my adrenaline kicked in. My body didn't know what was going on. But yeah, seeing Steve Austin do that thing with Kevin Owens. And then again, I love Kevin Owens. He's one of my favorite modern day wrestlers. And then all the nonsense on night two, especially the terrible stunner he did on Vince McMahon. It was almost like you got the greatest hits of Stone Cold within a 48-hour period. So now I'd love it if he came back because, again, I do think he's the goat. But to get to have experienced that, I do feel lucky and I do feel privileged. And that makes me like a nerd and it sounds corny and it sounds cheesy. I understand all of that. But it's how I felt at the time. And to just jump off my chair and cheer and anticipate, it was the anticipation on night two that was just the best. Yeah, I'm so happy I got to do that. And I guess it's like anything in wrestling, you never say never, you hold off and usually get to have these experiences. But I don't think that's going to be able to be topped just because it's Steve Austin. |
| 2:18.5 | And Steve Austin is one of, if not the best wrestlers of all time. |
| 2:21.1 | So I still go back and watch it on YouTube or the network or Netflix, whatever, |
| 2:26.7 | just to sort of relive that moment. |
| 2:28.9 | And wrestling is all about moments, as silly as that sounds. |
| 2:31.0 | But it is. |
| 2:31.8 | So yeah, probably my peak of watching live wrestling. |
| 2:35.6 | Unless I'm in it, I'm going to be a guy, actually. So in terms of me being in a match, it was winning the pro-ease championship of progress wrestling. We don't have time here to talk about it. Similar, really, never thought it was going to happen. A lot of people, nay, saying, somebody can't do it, you can't do it. and they do achieve something, it just reminds you, as Brian Daniels said, |
| 2:33.8 | if you fight for your dreams, your dreams will fight for you. Wilborn, what is the most insane thing you've ever seen at a live wrestling show? I'm going to give you a two for one here because they're both from WCPW. They're both involved belts. And they both might have actually happened at the same show. I can't remember. Basically, end of a long wcbbbw tour we've done like milan keens and leeds and shepfield Manchester feels like i think we're in london phil for the last show and the show concluded with a big brawl like it all kicked off in the ring and then people are running down to make the save and what have you it's all kicking off and i was just sat there peeking out of the curtain seeing what was going on and i looked |
| 3:29.6 | and i nudged clearly and i was like look at that that's amazing that we've got this like this fan has come to a |
| 3:35.0 | wcpw show and has brought their own replica wcpw title that's not what's happened. They've stolen the belt that someone's thrown down as they've run down to make the save. They've just stolen, I think it was the hardcore title as well. So it's a brave person who ever decided to take, I like that, thank you very much. And they were just holding it in the crowd and I was like, when the person who comes back up the route, realize that belt's not there, you're in real trouble, buddy. So I've never seen a fan steal a belt from a wrestler. There's a whole host of replicas out there for a reason. The other one I wanted to mention, again, I can't remember if this was the same show. I don't think it was. And I'm not going to say the wrestler who this was because |
| 4:14.7 | well they know who they are we are backstage and there's a variety of stories i could tell from |
| 4:23.9 | backstage no no the one i'm going to tell you is they we are backstage and obviously we're |
| 4:28.6 | lucky enough to have a whole host of amazing uh of wrestling and like Japanese superstars on some of these WCPW shows. |
| 4:36.6 | And some of them were very kind enough to bring their belts with them, whether they'd be from New Japan or other Japanese promotions. |
| 4:41.4 | I think they were New Japan belts. |
| 4:43.1 | That's the way I like to remember it anyway because they've gone out to wrestle or get some food |
