Ladies and gentlemen, a statement from Pete Blackburn.

Earlier this week, I had a regrettable and unfortunate lapse of judgment for which I want to

apologize. I have long promised myself that I would not sink so low as to get outraged and

emotionally triggered by the Golden Globes.

An award show that we all really know doesn't actually mean anything.

And yet, this past Sunday night, I allowed myself to enter a blackout rage

after the tremendously unspectacular and completely undeserving Bohemian Rhapsody

won best picture in the drama category. While I do not regret my seething scorn of Bohemian Rhapsody, one best picture in the drama category.

While I do not regret my seething scorn of Bohemian Rhapsody, a film that's emotional peak,

features a despondent Freddie Mercury dolefully saying,

To a stranger, just seconds after being diagnosed with AIDS, I am angry at myself for how

wholeheartedly unprepared I was for the rewarding

of such garbage by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. Admittedly, at some point, I may have

tricked myself into believing that the globes held a shred of dignity and self-respect, and that's

nobody's fault but my own. I was raised and educated better than that to be so naive. All I can

ask for is forgiveness from anyone who is unfortunate enough to find themselves in the path of my

emotional self-destruction, and I can promise to you, and myself, that I will work on becoming

better and stronger each day to ensure that this will never happen again. This is a teachable moment that I will care with me to the end of time.

And although I will never be able to forgive the Hollywood foreign press,

hopefully I will one day be able to forgive myself.
