It was Monday, November 29, 2004, just after 10 a.m. It was a beautiful day in a suburb of Phoenix, Arizona,

in a quiet little area called Awatuki. 24-year-old Robert Keith Palomarez was at work. Keith worked for an armored car company called

Dunbar Armored. They made a Dateline episode about this case back in 2013, and according to

Dateline, Keith's partner was the one driving the truck that day, and Keith was in the passenger

seat. They got to a movie theater, the AMC, Awowah Tookie 24 at 50th Street and East Ray Road.

Keith's partner was the one who stayed in the vehicle and watched what was going on.

Keith went inside and picked up the money.

Normally, Keith would have collected around $30,000 or $35,000.

But this was the day right after the long Thanksgiving weekend

when everyone gets bored from eating all the turkey and goes to a family movie. So on that day,

the amount Keith took was $56,000. Keith was a professional. He was in and out in fewer than four minutes.

No one saw the man outside dressed in black who was waiting, wearing black jeans, a black hooded

sweatshirt, and sunglasses. The stranger was hanging out in a little alleyway, out of sight of Keith's partner.

Police would later discover that mystery man had been stalking that location for days.

As Keith walked into the courtyard with the bags of money, the man stepped out from the alleyway and walked straight up to Keith and stuck a gun in his face.

The shooter fired six rounds.

One went into the window of the box office. The gunman shot Keith in the head and then stood over him

and shot four more times. There weren't many people around, but there were some painters who were

working nearby. Someone called 911. One of the painters saw the assailant

jump onto a black and red dirt bike and flee the scene with the bag of money. They found

fingerprints on the bike, and it didn't take police long to ID a suspect, Jason Derek Brown.

So almost immediately, this blonde Mormon surfer was on the FBI's 10 Most Wanted list
