In September of 2003, police in Essex, England, which is a suburb east of London, broke down the door of a totally nondescript residential house in Great Battle near Chelmsford.

Inside, they found a very calm blonde woman, 36-year-old Virginia McCullough.

And Virginia coldly admitted to murdering her parents and living there in the house with their

bodies for over four years.

Watching the footage is surreal.

The body cam footage is on YouTube and you can see one of the officers in the background.

He's pretty young and even though he keeps a really composed expression on his face,

you can see the horror in his eyes as he realizes what she's saying in such a cold fashion.

The sequence of events that led police there got started when police got a call from the council safeguarding team. No one had heard from 71-year-old Lois McCullough or 70-year-old

John McCullough, a retired business studies professor,

in a long time.

Lois and John had five children, all daughters, and they had an extended family.

But no one had seen them in the flesh since 2019.

Relatives and acquaintances believed that Lois and John had retired that they had gone to the

seaside to an area called Claxton. A GP, or general practitioner doctor, who had Lois and John

as patients, was concerned because the doctor said they hadn't been showing up to appointments

for a long period of time. John McCullough had medical issues.

He had a heart condition.

And in addition to not coming to the doctor, he hadn't been picking up his prescriptions.
