Hello, everyone. I'm David Chalien, the CNN political director. This is the Daily D.C.

0:10.6

Yesterday on this podcast, we talked a lot about the mood of the country, looking at poll numbers,

0:15.8

showing a majority of Americans rejecting Donald Trump's approach and response to both the coronavirus

0:21.7

pandemic and to the quest for racial justice in the aftermath of George Floyd's

0:28.2

killing those two dynamics, clearly the mood music of where we are politically in this country

0:35.4

1:45.6

And then they're the sunbelt states, if you will, they tend to be a little more red in their DNA than blue,

1:54.1

like those other battleground states, Arizona, Florida, North Carolina.

1:59.1

Those are the six states that are going to get the barrage of television ads, all the money spent, the most candidate travel and visits, such as that will be in the era of a pandemic campaign.

2:11.1

Looking at those six states, if the election were held today, according to these polls, Joe Biden would win them all.

2:16.4

And by the way, pretty easily.

2:18.9

I mean, in the Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Rust Bell Midwest, Industrial Midwest states,
