Mumford's anti-tech views heavily influenced Abby.

And in fact, Abby considered dedicating probably his most famous book, The Monkey Wrench Gang, in 1975 to Mumford, basically saying his novel was the counterweight to Mumford's, well, I don't even know if counterweight's the right word, but comparative or pairing supplement, compliment to Mumford's critique of industrial power.
