I do mean that figuratively and literally, you got to play offense. How about in your parenting,

let's say? When your kid does something great, a drawing that they're proud of, a dive in the pool that

they've been working on, they bring home a good report card, they win the game, what have you.

When you give them kudos and praise, then that is still playing defense.
