Welcome to the Dr. Berg's Healthy Keto and Interminute Fasting podcast, where Dr. Berg takes you on the journey for the truth about getting healthy and losing healthy weights. If you're interested in strengthening your bones and you have osteopinia or osteoporosis,

0:30.6

there is a very important mineral that you need to be aware of. In fact, it's the missing mineral for bone strength,

0:39.4

especially for hardening the outer part of the bone. And that's called strontium.

0:45.5

Okay, strontium is a trace mineral. It's a mineral that's needed in very, very small amounts.

0:51.5

Now, we all know that calcium is important in strengthening bone, and you need calcium

0:56.5

in a certain amount. And strontium is very similar in its chemistry to calcium, but it's not needed

1:05.3

in very large amounts, but you need it in certain amounts. And so the ratio of strontium to calcium is one to a thousand.

1:13.7

So we need a lot more calcium, but we do need strontium.

The first one who started in 2000.

1:26.3

I went to 2004. It was a total of three years.

1:29.4

It was a randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled study. And they found a decrease in risk

1:35.4

of bone fracture by 41 percent, pretty significant. Another study in 2008 showed a decrease in bone

1:42.5

fracture by 36 percent, pretty significant. So if you have a bone

1:47.2

situation and you want to really make sure your bones become normal again, definitely add

1:53.5

this trace mineral to your protocol. In fact, I would add this trace mineral. I would add calcium

1:58.8

in the form of aspartate and hydris.

2:02.4

I would also add vitamin D as well as vitamin K2, as well as magnesium.

2:09.3

I'm going to put a link down below for more details on that, but that's what I would recommend

2:13.4

for building bone in a blend of all of the trace minerals because a lot of these other minerals

2:20.4

are involved as well. Now, the interesting thing about this trace mineral strontium is that
