Everyone loves a good story and a good storyteller.

But there is no storyteller like the Lord Jesus, and there are no greater stories told than the ones Jesus shared.

In this study, spiritual stories, we consider the parables Jesus told

and their application to us. These are truly the greatest stories ever told, and the Lord

has something He wants to say to you through them. Let's join Scott Pauley now.

Life in itself is miraculous.

If you've ever held a newborn baby in your hand and watched that beautiful new life and then observed in the weeks and months that follow the growth of that life.

You just have to stand back and say, this is miraculous.

Well, that principle is woven through our entire world, and the principle is a reminder to us of the God who makes it all possible.

It's God who gives life. It's God who makes

things grow. We can't produce that. You can't make that happen, speed it along. It's the Lord's

doing, and we are just a part of what God is doing in this world. We get to be laborers

together with God. That's an amazing thing. Today we turn our attention to

one of the parables of Jesus that is also a miracle. We call it the miracle of growth. That's really what

the story was all about. It's recorded for us in Mark chapter number four. And I want to read Mark's

account to you today, but I want you to know that this particular

parable is found only in this gospel record. Only Mark records for us these words. Mark

chapter 4 beginning in verse number 26, and he said, so is the kingdom of God, as if a man should

cast seed into the ground and should sleep and rise night and day,

and the seed should spring and grow up. He knoweth not how. For the earth bringeth forth fruit

of herself, first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear. But when the fruit

is brought forth immediately, he put it in the sickle because the harvest is come.
