0:12.0	But there is no storyteller like the Lord Jesus, and there are no greater stories told than the ones Jesus shared.
0:19.0	In this study, spiritual stories, we consider the parables Jesus told
0:23.6	and their application to us. These are truly the greatest stories ever told, and the Lord

1:04.4	So with that in mind, I want to give today's study an Old Testament title for a New Testament text.
1:14.6	Here's the title. Are you ready? Let there be light. Who spoke those words? Our God did. Genesis chapter one, the very first page of scripture, the Lord speaks light into existence. In fact, light already existed because God is
1:22.4	light and in him is no darkness at all. Really what he was doing was revealing that light into our world. So he was
1:28.6	allowing his character, his glory, his light to shine into the world that man was going to
1:36.3	inhabit. And aren't we all grateful to God for that? Every good thing we enjoy is because of God's
1:42.1	character. When you come to Mark chapter 4, you come to another one of the parables of our Lord Jesus Christ, and it's very
1:50.0	short. You know, some of these stories are longer than others, but some are just a verse
1:54.8	or two, and yet the parabolic language is powerful. This is the story often
1:59.9	referred to as the bushel and the candlestick.
2:03.1	It's found here in Mark chapter 4 and in one other place in Luke chapter number 8.
2:07.7	I want to read it with you and then I want to bring it to where we live today because I believe
2:13.3	that the creator of the Old Testament and the Christ of the New Testament are seeking to speak to all of us today,
2:20.5	these words, let there be light.
