The book of Revelation, chapter 20.

I don't know if you're, yeah, okay.

Hopefully you're not scared because that's not what Revelation is supposed to do to us.

It's supposed to have a positive effect on us.

So go ahead and go towards the back of Revelation in chapter 20.

We are going to be in a message entitled tonight the millennium of

Messiah the millennium of Messiah this this study is going to be about none other than the

1,000 year reign of Jesus Christ upon the earth the physical literal reign of Jesus Christ upon the earth, the physical, literal reign of Jesus Christ upon the earth.

And I emphasize those words literal and physical because some people have taken an allegorical

approach to this clearly taught event or era you could say in the Word of God.

And I believe that is a big mistake. There is a golden rule in hermeneutics. And if you're not

familiar with that word hermeneutics, it means Bible interpretation, essentially. And that golden rule is,

if the plain sense of the text makes common sense, seek no other sense, lest you fall into nonsense.

And so, if it's clear and not in need of being allegorized, don't do it.

Six times in Revelation 20, this period of time is said to be 1,000 years.

There is a clear emphasis, 1, thousand years. And so, we should take God at His

Word. And it's also clear in the chronology of Revelation that the millennium follows after

the second coming of Christ. The time of the millennium is synonymous with the kingdom that was promised to Abraham,

Isaac, and Jacob in the Old Testament.

And the 1,000-year reign of Christ is one of the most immense and comprehensive topics in the entire Bible.

There are hundreds of direct and indirect references to it in the Word of God.
