The New York Mets have acquired a relief pitcher who I didn't even know was available.

Tyler Rogers, the side-arming reliever of the San Francisco Giants, who's been with the Giants for a long time.

And I'm going to knock on wood when I say this.

It's always healthy.

Which is half the battle when your reliever stays on the field, leads the league currently

in appearances, and is pitched to a 1.80 ERA.

So Tyler Rogers, one of the more reliable relievers in baseball, has been acquired.

I don't know what they gave up.

Ken Rosenthal was the first to report it. I would actually say, Teak, that is more than a lottery ticket because he's a reliable good reliever. Right. He's been in the league for seven years? Yes. Seasons? Yes. Consistently good, even though he just lost the game against the Pir pirates the other day, but it doesn't matter.

This is kind of what we thought David Stearns would do, too.

Nothing out of this world splashy, but just sure up your bullpen.

Now you go get Rogers, and you hope that it's enough with what you already have to put yourself in contention to get back

to where you are.
