Every day our society calls God a liar.

Dr. Tony Evans says when it's God's word against man's word,

it should be fairly simple to figure out who's got it wrong.

You don't get another view when God has spoken on the subject because there is no other view.

This is the alternative with Dr. Tony Evans, author, speaker, senior pastor of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in Dallas, Texas, and President of the Urban

Alternative. Like the rest of us, you're probably swamped with emails, texts, and

social media posts, all vying for your attention.

Well, today Dr Evans points out that God has a message for us as well, and it's one that shouldn't

be deleted or simply scrolled past.

Let's join him in the book of First John, as he explains.

We know that it is possible to be married but not have the quality of marriage

to be in the institution but not enjoying the relationship

to be legally secure but relationally at odds.

Just as that is the case in that relationship,

it is also the case, and potential in our relationship with God.

You can be legally justified, declared righteous, born against, saved, converted, regenerated, but not enjoying the relationship

with God and not expanding in the intimacy with the one who has given you new life.

So as we walk through First John, the concern is escalating and ascending in intimacy, having been converted

rather than descending in distance because intimacy is not being experienced.

He begins in verse five by saying, this is the message.

This is what you need to catch.

This is what I don't want you to miss.
