Paul Schumer, two-time Olympian on the U.S. Olympic team, winter Olympic team, biathlon.

So you and I met through social media, and then a couple years ago you were up here, turkey hunting in the badlands, went down there. I told these guys when I got back, I was like, I learned a very valuable lesson. You cannot go hunting with an Olympian if you want to try to keep up. Learn that real quick. But that same van that he's driving out there, he got that thing stuck in the badlands and the clay. I had to pull them out with my Ford.

Yeah, yeah. So anyways, you're up here, turkey hunting. You had a couple tags. You just got done tagging out your second tag. We're going to talk a little bit about turkey hunting. We're going to talk a little bit about the Olympics. We're going to talk about what the next chapter of your life is going to bring. So first of all, thanks for coming up the hour and a half drive from where you've

been turkey hunting for the last few days.

uh when i was living in north dakota full time i was over on the east side of the state and

man i was always trying to find reasons to to to get up to the northwest part of the state and so

um good to be back here and yeah great to great to be talking with you guys today. Yeah, when you first came out there a couple of years ago, it was funny. We were talking on social media and then on the phone before you came up. And some of the spots that I was, I was, some of the areas in the unit that you had turkey tags, and I was sending you, you already had pinned because you'd been spending a bunch of time on Anex. You did a good job of e-scouting

and you killed the turkey this morning right down in that same area, right? Correct. Yeah. Yeah,

it's like you go from, I went to school in Fargo, love Fargo, lived in Fargo for several years, but if you stand

on a tall building downtown, you can see Grand Forks in the wintertime. Like, it's pretty flat.

Yeah. And then you go from that to where you've been in Turkey hunting in the last few days.

I just, it's so much more enjoyable of a place to, to be outdoors than the eastern part of the state for me.

But let's talk a little bit about, like, where you came from, how you got to Fargo,

and, you know, like the road that kind of took you into being an Olympic athlete, I guess.
