Summary
60-80% of sport is a mental game yet very few teenagers are learning skills to train that part of their brain. If teens are spending hours playing sports and looking to reach their highest potential they should also be training for the mental game of sport. At some point talent will run out and how they overcome a personal failure, a parent yelling from the sidelines or a coach benching them for missing a shot will help to keep them in the game of elite sports. If sport is costing them their mental health it is never worth it. Mental health needs to come before sport.
