But I'll give you an opportunity to put the questions first,

except, of course, on the question of Tier 2, which we are now in.

But you are supportive of the government's decision, although you would prefer a

national circuit breaker. Is that right? That's a really good summary, James. Good morning. Can I just

say this? There are no good options. Basically, what we're seeking to do is to learn the lessons from

March. And one of the lessons from March is the earlier we bring in restrictions,

the better chance to save lives and livelihoods, but to continue to give the NHS the

headroom they need to continue not just COVID care, but non-COVID care as well.

And I continue to lobby the government for additional support for our businesses, for our councils and for individuals and workers as well.

And how would you describe the scenario in Manchester? You and Andy Burnham go way back, so you'll be o'fay with what's unfolding behind the scenes.

What I'd say to the government is that they really shouldn't treat mayors or leaders of councils across the country as adversaries or with suspicion.
