I'm your host Cori Muscarra and in today's episode I'm going to share a practice with you called the Martian Walk.

First, let's settle in together with the sound of the bells. So, do you ever feel like you're caught in the monotony of your life as if you're just

going through the motions, often with a been there done that mentality.

If so you're not alone. I think a big challenge for all of us is continuing to look for and feel into the novelty and

richness of each moment, especially those moments that feel very familiar, like our commute to work,

conversation with a partner, our normal routine that might be familiar from day to day.

And connecting to what is called beginner's mind

is one way that we can start to feel into the moment-to-moment novelty that is there, because the truth is we've

never seen this moment before, even if it's familiar.

And it's easy to get caught in this trap of

needing more and more extravagant moments

in order to get the high of novelty.

But it doesn't have to be like that.

We can train ourselves to be more attuned to what is here in each moment and appreciate the subtleties and the nuances that maybe we didn't experience beforehand with a sense of gratitude and even awe.

Now one of the practices I've utilized to help me reconnect to this

is what I call the Martian walk. Now this didn't start as a walk

when I first did it it started as a Martian drive.

I'll explain why I call it the Martian walk in a moment.

But on my commute to the gym in the mornings,
