Where we connect the Bible to your life and the time it takes to get to work.

I'm Tanya Wilmeth. It's no surprise to you that it's kind of my job to

0:16.3

share the gospel. I mean here at 10 minute Bible Talks if I recorded a podcast

0:20.3

over a passage of the Bible and didn't point toward Jesus, I might have missed the

0:25.1

point of the passage. It's easy to do that here because it's what you're looking

0:29.2

for and it's common ground between us. But there are other pockets of my life where that isn't what

0:33.7

people expect from me. For instance, in my graduate classes at Missou, that isn't a

0:39.1

place where people expect me to always point out how things we're discussing and writing about reflect the beauty of God's

I don't actually say those words all the time. They would also roll their eyes and I

1:05.4

definitely don't want to turn them off of faith by hearing me say one thing and

1:09.2

then act like another and I definitely have moments where I don't look like someone who

1:14.0

believes the gospel just let me tell you. I can imagine you have these kinds of

1:18.2

situations as well. Friend groups, coworkers, book clubs, teammates, classmates, you have places where you do more showing

1:25.7

up than speaking up.

1:28.1

So the question for today, can we actually spread the good news about Jesus without saying a word?

1:36.2

In Romans 12, Paul talks about the importance of how we show up as believers.

1:41.4

We've been given a new life, life in the spirit. How can we practice living that out

1:46.5

in real time? How can we show up in the world authentically? How can we be more wensome than off-putting?
