So I've been spending the last year and a half learning to garden and building my soil organically.

I keep seeing people post online about comfrey.

I was wondering if you had any experience growing

and or using it and if you think it would be worth setting aside some space in the

garden for a comfry bed. Now short answer is, hell you definitely should and I learned this from my friend Stephen

Cornette over at Nature's Always Right if you guys remember if you're a long time

podcast listener or a YouTube follower you'll know I did a bunch of videos and

episodes with him because he's a local market gardener here in San Diego that's just

crushing it. And he is a massive, massive proponent of Confrey and he's sort of the one who really encouraged me to consider it in the world of the home gardener. You and me, right? And so what is going on? Why is Comfrey talked about so much? Now, I'm just going to go through some of the things that you can use Comfrey for and then I'm going to let you decide if it's

valuable to use in the garden or not. So let's hit some of the main features of Confrey.

First of all, you can mulch, you can use it as a mulch. So if you chop your

con, let's say you have a section of Confrey in your bed, you chop it down and you decide to just

lay it on top of other sections of your bed or your garden.

It's very high in nitrogen, does not pull nitrogen from the soil when it's decomposing.

So like straw and leaves will actually pull some nitrogen from the soil because they're high carbon

Comfrey is high in potassium great for flowers and veggies right like tomatoes peppers

cucumbers anything that's going to produce a fruit, obviously potassium

is going to be quite helpful there.
