Summary

At long last: Dave Filoni’s “The Jedi” (S2E5) is filled with so, so much to talk about. Ahsoka Tano returns to the Star Wars universe finally in live action, Baby Yoda gets a name, the layered, complicated reactions to all of this, and so much more on this episode.    http://www.twitter.com/skytalkerspod http://facebook.com/skytalkerspod https://www.instagram.com/skytalkerspodcast http://www.twitter.com/crerrity http://www.twitter.com/caitlinplesher http://skytalkers.com https://www.patreon.com/skytalkers   Learn more about your ad choices. Welcome to Sky Talkers. Here are your hosts, Charlotte and Caitlin.

0:18.1

Hello, and welcome to Sky Talkers. I'm your host Charlotte.

0:22.0

Hey, everyone. I'm your other host,

0:28.1

Caitlin, and welcome to this week's Mandalorian Recap, where we're talking somehow all about chapter 13, the Jedi, which was directed and written by Dave Filoni. Oh boy. This episode is

0:36.1

filled with so much, not just story-wise, but there's just a lot of

0:41.3

layers going on here. And in a lot of ways, I really feel like this episode and its release

0:46.3

feels like a movie release when it comes to Star Wars just because it's pretty divisive. Everyone

0:51.0

has an opinion. It's the first watch is like needs a second watch. You know,

0:57.7

it's a weird situation, you know? Yeah. I feel like right before we started recording,

1:03.7

I was telling Charlotte, I feel like I've been thinking about this episode kind of nonstop since

1:09.3

it aired 48 hours ago, something like that. I don't know.

1:13.9

But what's interesting is I think I've been thinking about the response to it a lot and my response

1:20.3

to the response, if that makes sense. I feel like this episode is such a case study in all of the divisive things that

1:31.7

happen throughout the Star Wars universe. And it's kind of boiled down into one episode. And it's

1:41.3

very interesting and hard to talk about, I think, too too so we'll probably be more rambly than usual

1:47.6

there's just a lot to cover and I hope that we can cover it all but the reality is that we won't

1:53.0

and I know that when we finish recording I'll be like but wait I have something else to add just because

1:58.0

there's so much in this episode oh my god you say this in like every episode

2:02.1

i know but but really this one in particular and i think for a lot of us fans this is the episode that

2:09.6

so many of us were so nervous about too and the one that was rumored for so long and no one really

2:16.4

knew how it was going to fit in and if it was

2:18.8

even going to happen and how it would how it would look and i think that before we get started
