Summary

The universe is expanding and the people of Earth want to know more! The Nancy Grace Roman Telescope is set to launch sometime in 2026 which will bring about some answers when it comes to understanding dark energy and how it stretches the universe. Here to discuss this groundbreaking project is Swapna Krishna, a science journalist who specializes in all things space. Before that, Sam will look into how mathematicians were able to (almost) calculate pi using Minecraft and later, she’ll discuss how mental health questionnaires might need some updating.

There's a common refrain in astrophysics. The universe is always expanding. And yeah, sure,

0:30.4

I guess I get that, but I still have some questions. Like, what is it expanding into exactly?

0:36.6

And why is it expanding?

Well, astrophysicists have the answer to both of those questions, partially as a result of

But later this year, a new telescope is set to provide even more answers to the expansion

of our universe.

the measurement bias and how that's affecting certain mental health questionnaires. Welcome to Curiosity Weekly.

My name is Dr. Spanthia mean. Let's expand our minds. Pie is everywhere in nature, but I'm not

talking about the pie that you can eat, although I do love that one too. I'm talking about the number

Minecraft, it's okay, me neither. Just imagine a digital world built entirely out of Lego bricks,
