Today, I am starting a case dive miniseries. Maybe it will be two parts. Maybe it will be three parts.

But this case is officially the most requested military crime

recommended to me in the past six years. And that's probably because it includes the most

haunting and controversial facts of any case I've heard of. This is the case of Jeffrey McDonald,

an army doctor assigned to the Green Berets and stationed at Fort Bragg,

North Carolina. His pregnant wife, Collette, and two young daughters were brutally murdered in

1970. And what followed those murders was a long quest to find out what really happened that

night. Now, let's just say that despite this being a 1970s case, this case has continued through federal appeals for decades, including repeated litigation in the Fourth Circuit and the Supreme Court.

I've heard the McDonald case several times before, but honestly, sitting down and digging in, reading the transcripts, seeing some of the evidence, guess what?

It still leaves more questions and answers.

But here we are.

In part one, I will be setting the stage with the horrifying crime and the initial army

investigation that followed.

Then in part two and part three, I will roll it back, tell you more about the McDonald family, and then

we'll get into the trials, the appeals, and the media controversy revolving around this case.
