Hey everybody welcome back to Cold Case Murder Mysteries. I'm your host Ryan Kraus

coming at you once again to pry the lid off of fascinating mystery and take a

peek inside at the madness.

This time around, we're headed to Central America in order to examine the disappearance of two

young Dutch women, 21-year-old Chris Kramer's and 22-year-old

Lisan Frau, who vanished on a day hike into mountainous terrain looming over the town of Boquete Panama

on April 1st, 2014, never to be seen alive again.

The question, of course, is accident or murder. So Chris and Lizan, like many young people their age, are eager to travel the world, but often do so a bit differently than their parents due to financial considerations and interests.

If you're 21 or 22, around college age, as these two were, you might not book a luxurious

resort vacation where you just sit on the beach for seven days and get drunk fat and happy

while never leaving the resort. You might be more so geared toward adventure,

meeting new people and exploring culture that's off the beaten path.

In short, you're looking for character-building experiences older people likely already have.

When you're 40, you tell people about the stupid mistakes you made when you were 20 from the confines of relative

safety because you learned as a result of these wrong turns.

And then you moved on to possess greater wisdom, meaning you'd no longer do so many of the things you might do in your younger days

and for one very specific reason. They were dangerous. So many of the things we do in

our youth present an elevated element of risk because we have a greater desire to

discover the experiences that will define us. If you're 40 it's likely many things

define you as you've had the opportunity to achieve and define your character

over the course of your adulthood.
