There is no name like the name of our God because there is no one like our God.

Well, for the follower of Jesus Christ, that question is answered in one of his names.

I'm referring today to the name that is simply written in our Bible, the Lord.

Let me draw your attention to one great verse. Today, not in the gospel records, but in the book that some have referred to as the fifth gospel record, the book of Acts. Peter is preaching in Acts chapter number two, and in verse number 36,

he simply says this, therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God hath made that same Jesus

whom ye have crucified both Lord and Christ. What a verse. What a

Savior. In one verse we have his complete name and title as given in the New Testament. In Acts

2, verse number 36, you have the name, the proper name Jesus, which we'll come back to, and you have the title that begins and ends his full title. You have Lord and Christ. Put it all together. Lord Jesus Christ, that's the full name and title of the Son of God and our Savior. But I draw your attention to the fact that Jesus

in Acts 236 is the Lord and that he is both Lord and Christ. So let's concentrate today on the Lord.

What does this mean? Well actually the term Lord is found in our Bible about 650 times.
