What is the most beautiful name in the world to you?

Someone said years ago that the most beautiful word in any language is a person's own name.

I understand that because it means somebody knows you, they recognize you, they respect you, they know you by name.

That's wonderful.

But I want to say to you today that the most beautiful name in the world, both for time and eternity,

in any generation and in any nation, is the name of Jesus.

We find this name in Matthew chapter number one when the angel comes to Joseph announcing the birth of a child to marry. You remember

the story. At Matthew chapter 1, verse 20, while he thought on these things, behold the angel of the

Lord appeared unto him in a dream saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee marry thy

wife. For that which is conceived in her is of the holy ghost

and she shall bring forth a son and thou shall call his name Jesus it's in all capital letters in the

scriptures Jesus it stands out for he shall save his people from their sins when you come to the end of that same

chapter the bible says that joseph obeyed and knew or not till she had brought forth her firstborn son and he

called his name jesus there's the name again there is no name like the name of jesus it's the name above every name. It's the name of our Savior.

Let me ask you a question. What does the name Jesus mean to you today?

Is it just another name? God forbid. Is it a curse word? Is it something that you've grown so

accustomed to even as a believer that you've lost the meaning

of the name you see this is the personal name of the lord jesus christ it's found 700 times in the

new testament and 600 of those times are in the gospel records that ought to tell us something
