There was a new report that came out, and it says that Americans in their 40s, sometimes early 50s, are the loneliest age group in the United States.

People specifically between the age of 45 and 49 report the highest levels of loneliness, half saying they feel lonely in some form

or another.

You would think that this would be maybe the elderly, those with mobility issues that aren't

able to get around as much.

No, it is people who are potentially supposed to be in the prime of their life,

45 to 49 years old.

So, Casey, I think you could almost say those are the same people that suffer from depression.

And without getting too deep for our fun morning show here,

I have noticed a trend amongst

acquaintances of mine, and I've had a few, and when I say a few, five or six people I know

that are roughly in that age range of the late 40s through their 50s that have taken their own

lives.

And I can only suspect that they, A, feel lonely.

Oftentimes, these were people that were either divorced or had never really had a relationship.

And I think if you start looking at what have I accomplished in my life,

I haven't accomplished the sorts of things with my careers that I wanted to accomplish.

I've not had the connections that I wanted to have with other people.
