offer another glimpse into the life of Jesus. All right, so back to the Gospel of Matthew, back to chapter 8.

These remarkable stories, the kindness

and the disruption of culture with the

Laper, right? The astonishment at the centurion and the condition of faith.

The generosity of just offering his time, his words, well into the night with people, and then

the disruption, the willingness to speak hard words that are the very words that are needed.

Two more stories in Chapter 8 alone.

And I hope what this is causing you to do,

as you're reading the scripture, just stop and ask yourself, what have we got here? What is this telling me? What's operating here? Because it's just extraordinary. All right, the famous

story of Jesus calming the storm followed by the story of the deliverance of the two demon possessed men in the

gatherings wilderness. Stories are actually connected. All right? Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him without warning a furious storm came up on the lake so that the waves swept over the boat.

Jesus was sleeping.

The disciples went and woke him up saying, Lord,

save us, we're going to drown.

He replied, you of little faith.

What are you so worked up about?

Let's go, um, that? The storm, the really big waves, the wind, you know, why aren't you worked up?

What is it with this guy?

Then he got up and he rebukes.

That's interesting.

The wind and the ways was completely calm. And the men were
