Hello I'm John Eldridge and welcome to the Ransom Tar Podcast. This week we are giving a taste of a wonderful teaching series that I've done entitled The Life of Jesus.

It's a fresh look into the Gospels

and into the personality of Jesus Christ.

Now I want to take a look slowly through chapter 8 because there's several stories in here that are powerful and strung together for a reason.

He's just finished the sermon on the mount, all that stuff, right?

When you pray, go in your closet, when you give,

don't let your right hand know what your left hand's doing,

all of that.

Seek ye first, the kingdom of God.

He's just completely revamping their idea of goodness,

goodness, genuine holiness, all right?

You just revamp the whole thing.

And then almost as if to say, let me show you what I mean.

All right, Chapter 8 begins like this.

When he came down from the mountainside,

large crowds followed him.

A man with leprosy came and knelt before him and said,

Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.

Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man.

I'm willing. He said, be clean. And immediately he was cured of his leprosy. And then Jesus said to him,

see that you don't tell anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest, offer the gift Moses commanded as a testimony to them.

Ah, this is the sermon on the mount, right? In action. Let me show what I mean about goodness. Let me show you the heart of God, okay? Oh, it is so beautiful. His power to heal, his desire to heal, right? His compassion, his tenderness. you can just tell how someone is going to handle you.
