Summary

In this message, Pastor Levi Lusko explores how a shift in perspective can change everything. Looking at Matthew 5:41, we unpack Jesus’ radical invitation to go the extra mile—a call to live above and beyond the bare minimum. We see how the cross recalibrates our scale of sacrifice and service. Discover how this perspective not only reframes your present struggles but also creates a legacy for future generations and positions you to receive eternal rewards.

If you have a Bible, we're going to be in Matthew chapter 5. And as you find your way there,

0:05.0

let me say that no matter what you're up against today, and no matter what God is calling you to do

0:11.3

today, as we all take a step of faith as we follow Jesus, each every new day, every new season,

0:17.4

every new year. And as we come to this moment in just a few moments for us in person

0:21.8

with our year-end offering, whatever God is uniquely calling us to do, we want to just listen to

0:27.3

his voice. We've always said that I'm not asking you to do anything. I'm just asking you to ask

0:32.0

God what he would have you to do, what part he would have you to play. And if he tells you, do nothing,

0:38.1

that's what we want you to do, do nothing, but we want you to listen to God, to hear from God.

And as you take these steps of faith following Jesus, it's incredible to me how much perspective can

0:51.5

change how you see what you're doing. Your perspective can change how you feel about

0:55.7

1:06.4

not used to the kind of snow that would be normal if you're listening to this in you know

1:10.8

Idaho or Washington or Wyoming or Montana it's very different than the South you

1:16.6

know the amount of snow tires the amount of plows and and what to us would just be like

1:21.4

a Tuesday can grind a city to a halt and that was our experience when they shut an

1:26.9

airport down. People were

1:29.0

freaking out. And I was bummed out, right? Because I saw the snow falling as an inconvenience.

1:34.9

My day was changing. flights being canceled. Travel plans being rerouted. That's how I saw the snow.

1:42.4

It was just this big bummer. And then I looked out the window

1:46.5

and I saw this family and they annoyed me greatly because they were just having such a delightful time

1:54.1

making tiny snow people. And I just, I sat there watching them. They get into a snowball fight.
