| 0:00.0 | Hey, this is Hanas from Storyworthy. I just wanted to thank you for listening to the show. And listen, the very best thing you can do for us, tell your friends. Send them a link. People are silly. Send them a link to StoryWithopcast.com or our iTunes page and say, hey, you should listen to this. That's all you have to do. That's all you have to do. Hello, Abla, Desirezaburano. |
| 0:21.0 | He's listening Storyworthy. |
| 0:36.2 | Welcome to the storyworthy. |
| 0:38.0 | Here are your hosts, Christine Blackburn and Hannes Finney. |
| 0:50.7 | Welcome to Storyworthy. |
| 0:52.1 | My name is Christine Blackburn, and I'm here with Hannes Finney, and we're coming to you from the Los Angeles Plaza de Caltura Your Artes. Did you like my really good Spanish act? Where's that from? It's downtown. Oh, downtown. It's a museum of culture and arts. Okay. Of Mexican culture and arts. Is it near Oliveira Street? It is very near Oliver Street. |
| 1:11.7 | Oliveira Street is where they have. I can see it. It's right over there. Right. It's like a little plaza in downtown L.A. That's a little anymore. It keeps getting bigger and bigger. It's supposed to be what old L.A. was originally when it was a Mexican settlement. There was a Pueblo. and there's, but there's also a Chinese American Museum right across the street too. |
| 1:30.5 | A lot of commercial, you got to see a lot of commercials that are shot there because it looks like a kind of a town square. Or it could be like a little Tijuana. You know, because it's little stalls. I've never been to Tijuana, so I don't know. Is that right? No. Oh, wow. That's's amazing how come you never went down to tijuana uh i i have no desire to go to tijuana i don't know it's just curious because in southern california like i mean i haven't gone in years but i have like no you have no interest i haven't been in years but for a while there like in the 90s it was like we down to Tijuana. Like, for a beer and a shot was like a dollar or something. Well, that one of me the problem right there is I don't drink. Hence my not need. Of course, we've had Jennifer Valley, one of our guests, talked about going down there for dental work. That's right. Or accompanying her friend for cheap dental work. So that was a Tijuana story. That was a Tijuana story. Okay, listen, why are we talking about this? Because our topic today is this is what Mexican looks like. Yes, not what Mexico looks like. No, Mexican. Like a Mexican person looks like. A Mexican person. What do they look like? That's right. This is, we're going to learn the truth today. Our storyteller tonight, |
| 2:34.9 | Desire Zamorano, she's an author, and she is Mexican. What? She doesn't look Mexican, although |
| 2:41.0 | I know that that's such a... Wow, that really did not. I want to distance myself from that |
| 2:45.3 | statement. I don't see any, I make no judgments. She does look a little Swedish. I'll say that, but I don't see any, I make no judgments. |
| 3:41.3 | She does look a little Swedish, I'll say that. But I don't even know what you mean by that. But listen, if you look at me across the way, I don't want to be part of the lawsuit. But if you looked at me across the way, what would you say? Look at that. Be careful. No, actually, look at that whore. No, what I wouldn't say is I know that you are half English and half Italian, but the Italian part doesn't read for me at all. Listen, if I'm in Italy and somebody says, what is your nationality? I'm American. I know that, but I mean, I would say that automatically. But I look pretty much exactly like what I look like. German. And? German. No. German and Irish. German and Irish. I look exactly like a half German, half Irish guy. You know what? I didn't even know you were half Irish, but you do look at it and I just said that. Yeah, it's the nose. If I drank, this nose would be like Ted Kennedy. It would be an enormous gin blossom, as they say. |
| 3:44.8 | Big red capillary busted drinker's nose. |
| 3:45.8 | That's what it would look like. |
| 3:46.7 | Carl Mulden. |
| 3:47.6 | Yeah. |
| 3:49.1 | No, not Carl Mulden. |
| 3:50.0 | His nose was actually big. |
| 3:51.1 | I'm talking about, like. |
| 3:52.2 | Bill Clinton. |
| 4:15.3 | Like, yeah, like Irish people when they drink, if their nose swells up. I would sleep with Bill Clinton. I'm just telling you that right now. I was going to put it out there. I would. Desire Zamorano, she's looking at me, and she would sleep with Bill Clinton and you can't die. I wouldn't sleep with him a handy. If he could come back and fix the economy, I'll give him a handy. Because I remember somebody once, who is it? |
| 4:16.4 | Somebody said, yeah. |
